People & Places: A Primer presents profiles of people with mental illness and addiction, and the people and places that care for them. While not a comprehensive survey, this exhibition offers, in sample-platter style, a range of good things happening in Baltimore’s behavioral health ecosystem. Those wondering if treatment can work, or if recovery happens, will find uplifting answers here, as well as a case to invest in what we know helps make the world a more healing place. Six artists profile 22 individuals, each selected by one of 22 behavioral health organizations or entities in the Baltimore region.
Organizations and programs featured in this exhibition are Active Minds Towson Chapter, Alcoholics Anonymous, Baltimore City Needle Exchange Program, Baltimore Crisis Response, Black Mental Health Alliance, Bmore Clubhouse, Health Care for the Homeless, Holistic Life Foundation, Light Health & Wellness, Marian House, Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, Maryland Psychiatric Research Center at University of Maryland School of Medicine, Maryland Recovery Organization Connecting Communities (M-ROCC), Mosaic Community Services, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Metro Baltimore, On Our Own Baltimore, Our Heroes Network, Powell Recovery Center, REACH at Institute for Behavior Resources (IBR), Recovery in Community, Roberta’s House: A Family Grief Support Center, and Survivors of Suicide: Baltimore Support Group.
