Frostburg State University, Gira Center, Room 397
101 Braddock Road, Frostburg MD, 21532
October 19, 2018, 3:30 - 6:00pm

How do we find resilience in the face of loss?

Join Peter Bruun, founder and director of the New Day Campaign, as he shares "Elisif's Story," a 35-minute video about the life and death of his daughter from a heroin overdose, and a display of art by Elisif - the video and art in combination offering a case study of a girl with many normal challenges that grow into something more tragic.

Peter is joined by Maria Broom, nationally known actress, dancer, author, and story teller, who offers an interactive performance, addressing such topics as how inwardness helps us heal and find resilience, and the role of love, hope, and spirit in seeking and maintaining wellness.

The event, free and open to the public, includes light snacks and refreshments, and resource information for those affected by mental health challenges and/or substance use.

Reception: 3:30pm to 4:00pm
Program: 4:00pm to 6:00pm
